Stephen Graf, Summer Theatre Intern
Stephen Graf, originally from Wind Gap, PA, is a rising senior at
Swarthmore College, where he majors in theater with minors in
interpretation theory and linguistics. During his time at Swarthmore, he
has performed in productions of such shows as The Wild Party, Old Times,
Innocence, Spring Awakening, Merma Never Dies, The Odd Couple, and Fools.
Also at college, Stephen has created several solo and group performance
pieces, including Shock and Guffaw, a piece about humor and agency, and i
want it all, a piece comprised of 12 mini-scenes about sexuality. Stephen
is a Sexual Health Counselor, a dancer and choreographer in Rhythm N
Motion, a dance group devoted to the music and dance of the African
Diaspora, and a co-organizer of the Queer-Straight Alliance.
Last summer, Stephen was an administrative and artistic intern at Dixon Place, where he
helped to coordinate a queer theater festival entitled HOT! The NYC
Celebration of Queer Culture. He will be spending the summer of 2008 in
NYC doing research and dramaturgy work for a solo piece he will be
performing next year about race and whiteness, along with being Freedom
Train's Summer Theatre Intern.
