In the summer of 2008 The Union Square Arts Award awarded Freedom Train Productions a $35K two-year grant. This award has given The Train an opportunity to take a bold step forward: stage our first full production of new political theatre in 2010!

To this end we have embarked on a new campaign: S/HEROES FOR THE FUTURE. What does it take to be a shero or hero? A $50 or more donation to The Train in a given year. That's it.

S/HERO BENEFITS:

- A one-year s/hero membership;

- Subscription to The Train's newsletter starting in Fall 2008;

- Acknowledgment of s/hero membership in The Train's promotional materials; and

- Feel goodness of supporting groundbreaking political theatre that puts Black LGBT protagonists center stage in universal stories;

By 2010 our goal is 600 s/heroes. On opening night in 2010 and by the end of our Union Square Arts Award term, your s/heroic efforts will have raised over $30K! S/HEROES FOR THE FUTURE ensures that The Train's vision for political theatre is supported not only by grant givers and foundations but also by individual artists, NYC residents, and people of social justice faith and spirit like you.

Become a s/hero online today with a $50 donation. Contributions in behalf of Freedom Train Productions can be made payable to Fractured Atlas, our fiscal sponsor, and are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. Please be sure to leave us your phone number and email when you make your donation online. Thank you for your support.
